Altenew: A Year In Review Blog Hop + Giveaway

Thursday, December 27, 2018

Hey friends,

today I have a very special blog post for you, as I am participating in the

Altenew A YEAR IN REVIEW Blog Hop!! :)

Many super talented artists have joined with Altenew to show you their favorite 2018 projects. I'm so excited I was asked to join and present to you my four favorite layouts I made, using Altenew dies and stamps. Make sure to read to the end to get the details on how you can participate in the giveaway!! :)

So here we go:

I made this layout for the Pink Paislee Design Team. I used the Rose Flurries dies set.

I used the dies to make these wonderful little roses and leaves. I used patterned papers to make them and I think it turned out really cute and whimsical.

Then I have this layout, I made for the Altenew October release.

With the Floral Elements dies, you can create three different abstract flowers, some leaves and some other small elements. I used this set to create my flowers and leaves and scattered them all over my page, making little clusters. I really love how you can totally customize your embellishments and make as many as you want to.

Then I have this layout, I created for Altenew. Here I used the Playful Blooms stamps and dies duo. First you stamp the flowers in the colors that you like, then you have matching dies to make the cutting easier and faster.

I made this mexican-inspired layout, creating a lot of stamped flowers, die-cutting them and building a frame all around the page.

Finally, I want to share this layout,

Here I used the Brilliant Baubles stamps and dies. They are used in the same way as the flowers in the project above, where you first stamp and layer the colors and then die-cut the shapes with the matching dies.

I created a Christmas layout, making some colorful baubles and hanging them on the reindeer's antlers.

I hope I could inspire you with my layouts and show you some ways how you can use the amazing Altenew stamps and dies :)

Confetti Wishes cards fro PINK PAISLEE

Friday, July 13, 2018

Hi dear people,
It's Lisa and I'm back on the blog with two cute cards I made with the Confetti Wishes collection.

The main focus on these cards, are the paper weaved pieces. To start, I cut a lot of 1cm paper strips from almost all of the papers from the collection. Then I weaved them together, creating this cool and colorful design. I adhered the whole thing to a white sheet of paper, so that it would't fall apart when I cut it.
For the first, square shaped card, I cut a heart out of a 6x6 piece of the weaved design. Then I placed some white paper in the heart shaped hole and I stitched around the heart with a link chain stitch, using three shades of pink to create an ombre effect.

I used two rolled flowers that I had left from a previous project and some of the chipboard and cardstock stickers to embellish the card. I used a beautiful and big gold and aqua foam thicker saying 'Hooray' to stick in the middle of the card and added some gold splatters.

For the second card, I cut out three small hearts out of the weaved design. I stitched around them using pink, green and gray thread.

Then I placed them on a rectangular piece of patterned paper that I adhered on another patterned paper using sticky foam.

To embellish, I used some chipboard and puffy stickers and some dots from the foam thickers sheets.

Those cards are perfect for every occasion... birthdays, congratulation wishes, thank you's... I hope you'll try this technique and chain link stitching, it turns out so good every time! :)
Thank you so much for being here, see you soon!
