Lucky Us cards for PINK PAISLEE

Saturday, November 30, 2019

Hi friends,
I'm back on the blog and today I'm sharing my very first project using the lovely Lucky Us collection. This collection is a Valentine's collection but of course, you can use for every other theme or occasion.
The new @pinkpaislee collection, called Lucky Us is out and it’s the cutest!!! For her first project using it, @lisafonseca1985 created some lovely flower cards that you can use for every occasion. #pinkpaislee #lisafonseca #luckyus #cards #scrapbook
I really, REALLY love the color scheme of this collection. Pinks with Reds and Aquas...? Yes, please :) For my first project, I wanted to feature the beautiful patterned papers of this collection.  I chose the ones that were the most solid, without too many mixed colors and details.
For my first card, I created nine little flowers. To make them, I cut out two whimsical and irregular flower shapes that I layered and one circle. I cut into the circle all around, reaching almost the middle. Like that, I created a fun center to layer on top and then I added a glitter enamel dot on each of the flowers. I cut out everything by hand, so the flowers are all a bit different and not perfect, which I like. To create dimension and make the flowers more 3-dimensional, I used a ball tool, put the different layers on a foam matte and pressed the center of the paper into the matte with the ball tool. This makes the petals stand up.

I adhered the nine flowers to my square white base, which I previously had adhered to a red patterned paper, and added some matching tangled thread behind each flower. This creates even more interest and texture. To finish the card, I added a sentiment sticker from the cardstock sticker sheet.

For my second card, I used exactly the same papers but I wanted to have one big flower.

So from each of the patterned papers, I hand cut out an abstract flower shape. Every time, I cut it out a bit smaller, so that I could layer all the papers. I used my ball tool and foam matte again and pressed the paper into the matte to create the dimension I wanted. Then I adhered the layers together. For my center, I took a piece of paper and shaped it into this puffy little circle. I like how that turned out :)

As my card base, I used white again with a pink border. I adhered my flower to it and added three flowers from the ephemera pack behind it. I added thread too. This time I used all the colors together and made a big messy nest. I also used a sentiment sticker on this card and a little heart sticker.

I really love those cards and I hope you do too. You should definitely check out this new Pink Paislee collection. :)

Make your own magic layout for PINK PAISLEE

Sunday, November 24, 2019

Hi scrappy people,
today I'm back with a cool Disney layout that I made using the Truly Grateful collection.
@lisafonseca1985 documented her pretty DisneyWorld photos using the exclusive @paigetaylorevans Minnie Mouse cutfile and the wonderful Truly Grateful collection by @pinkpaislee. The many colors of the collection make it easy to find the perfect match for each picture. #pinkpaislee #disney #paigeevans #lisafonseca #trulygrateful #layout #scrapbook
Last summer, I went to Disney World in Orlando and took some cool pictures I wanted to scrap. When Paige came out with her Disney cutfile, I was stoked. I love this Minnie Mouse one especially and I knew it was the perfect cutfile to use with one of my photos.
I started by backing the cutfile. This cutfile has some irregular lines that I wanted to fill with the main colors I wanted to use on this layout. The red really comes out in the picture, so I needed to also use red on the layout. I wanted to pair it with blue, pink and purple. I chose all my papers and backed all the parts of the cutfile. For the middle part, I used some vellum and when I adhered it to my white paper, I put some sequins from the Truly Grateful collection behind. So I have a big shaker Minnie head. :) I wanted to add even more colors to the cutfile though, so I framed the Minnie head five times, using red, peach, pink, purple and blue papers.I think it turned out amazing!

The cutfile also has flowers and leaves. I only backed some of the leaves but left the flowers like that because I wanted to add flowers on top.

I added some ephemera flowers and also some I had cut out from patterned paper. I also created a 3D flower to have even more dimension. I then added some leaves and wood buttons. I matted my photo with two of the patterned papers I had used before and then placed it on my layout. I decorated around it with flowers, leaves, a little bird sticker and wood button.

For my title, there was nothing more perfect than the epoxy word stickers saying ' Make your own magic'. I mean... perfect words, perfect color, perfect size... I want that in all of my layouts, haha! :) I added it to the layout and also added some of those epoxy hearts. Then I used a red gelatos and smooshed some color all around the Minnie head. I also added some red and gold splatters.

Grateful layout for PINK PAISLEE

Friday, November 15, 2019

Hey friends,
it's Lisa back on the blog and today I'm sharing my very last Halloween layout for this year.
The pretty fall colors of the Truly Grateful collection from @pinkpaislee @paigetaylorevans are perfect to document your pretty Halloween pictures. @lisafonseca1985 added them to a witch legs cutfile and it's a perfect match. #pinkpaislee #halloween #paigeevans #lisafonseca #trulygrateful #layout #scrapbook
The inspiration for this layout came from this amazingly cool cutfile from Paige Evans. I always wanted to use witch legs on a layout, so I was really stoked when I saw this one in the cutfile store. :) I wanted to use it with black paper and back it with many wonderful colors from the Truly Grateful collection.

To start I chose all the papers I wanted to use. Of course I wanted a Halloween color scheme, so I chose purple, green, orange and pink patterned papers. For the shoes, I immediately knew that I wanted to use the speciality paper, it was just perfect for witches shoes. I backed the whole cutfile with the papers from the collection and also added some solid colored paper from the Horizon project pad. To finish off the shoes, I added some enamel dots from my stash.

In fact, the layout, as you see it right now, is not at all how it looked when I first was done with it... ;) I put it aside for days and every time I looked at it, I didn't like it. So after a week or so, I decided to take the shoes and picture off the page and start new. I my first version, I created some mixed media on the background. I used green, purple and orange gelatos and smooshed them over the white paper with a baby wipe. Then I stitched some swirls around both legs and finally added some gold stars. You can see it on this (bad quality) photo. :)

So when I decided not to use this layout, I still wanted to keep the swirls. I cut them out of the paper and was able to use them again. So on my new layout, I went without the mixed media background. I started by adhering the legs to the white paper, slightly different than on the first layout. This way, I had more space to place the photo. I also added a frame around the layout, like I do most of the time.

I matted the photo on gold and purple paper and adhered it to the layout using foam tape. The photo is from one year ago, when I was at Disneyland for Halloween with two friends and it was just perfect for this layout. Then I added the swirls I had cut out. I have to say that I was really happy with the fact that the swirls had a paper frame around (because I cut them out). I think it looks even better than before.

Then I had the idea to make the legs look as if they were coming out of the ground full of flowers. So I started adding a ton of flowers on the bottom of the layout and also added some on top of the shoes. As a title, I didn't really know what to use. So I went through the epoxy word stickers and used the word 'Grateful'.

At the end, I added some wood buttons, some epoxy and paper star stickers and some gold splatters.
I really hope you like it :)

Splendid Friends - HIP KIT CLUB

Wednesday, November 13, 2019

Hey friends,

today I'm sharing a very fun and colorful fall wreath I created with an exclusive October HKC cutfile😃
I chose the leaves cutfile because I love making wreaths. I cut the leaves out of different colors of cardstock from the Cardstock Kit. Then I slightly changed the cutfile, so that I would only have the contoures of the leaves. This way I could back my leaves very fast without having to hand-cut everything. I used different patterned papers to back the leaves. What I love about the colors is that they are very bold and saturated and I also love having some brown, which, let's be honest, we almost never use on our layouts... 😄
I added the title, some enamel dots and some exclusive embellishments and I was done!

Let me know if you like it, see you soon!

Better together for THE CUT SHOPPE

Tuesday, November 12, 2019

Hey scrappy friends,

today I'm sharing a new layout I made using a beautiful new cutfile. It's called FALL FLOWERS and is available on the CutShoppe website.

I cut it out of orange cardstock and to back it, I used yellow cardstock. I let my Silhouette machine cut out the yellow backing piece, which I had created by selecting only the contours of the flowers. That way, it was faster and I didn't need to hand-cut it.

As you can see on the photo, when I adhered the pieces to my white cardstock, I placed the orange piece slightly higher than the yellow piece, which makes the contours of the yellow piece peek our and I think this gives a very cool look. For the centers of the flowers, I used a scalloped circle punch and punched them out of different bright pink patterned papers.

Then I placed an embellishemnent in each of the centers. I used gems, buttons and brads. I really like the look that it gives and I adore the pink, yellow and orange colors together. Of course, I also needed to frame my layout... I used a cardstock sheet with the same color as the bright pink flower centers.

I matted my photo on some scraps of paper and added it to the layout. I wanted to bring some mint color in and also to do a bit of mixed media but I loved the layout so much so far and I was scared to ruin it... :) So I used some clear stickers from my stash which had splatters and splotches in different colors. I used some of those behind my photo and also on the sides of the layout.

Then I added my title. I used gold chipboard stickers saying: "Better Together". I also added this cute little pink cat from the latest Dear Lizzy collection.

To add more mint color, I cut out some simple leaves and adhered them next to some flowers. Then I added some clear bee stickers and black splatters and I was done.

Thank you so much for stopping by, see you soon! :)

Fall cards - HIP KIT CLUB

Monday, November 11, 2019

Hi friends,

today I'm sharing three cards I made using the October kits. 😃
The assignment was to get out our punches and also add some stitching details. I had only received a new flower punch and was excited to try it out. I created flowers for the three cards, switching between colored and white ones.
I adhered the white ones to a pretty colored patterned paper and for the colored flowers, I used papers with less colors and patterns, to make them stand out more. I used a lot of the exclsuive HKC vellum and acetate flowers which I LOVE!! I want to add them to everything... haha! I added some hand-stitching details to some of the vellum leaves, which looks pretty cool!
I really hope you like them and and inspired to create flowers too! 😘🥰☺️
Thanks, Lisa
P.S. Have you seen the cute fox head which fits perfectly on the fall sweater die-cut?? So cute 😁
