Enjoy the little things layout for PINK PAISLEE

Wednesday, October 24, 2018

Hi lovely friends.
Today I'm sharing my first fall 2018 layout with you (even though the picture is from summer... ;) ).
I saw this beautiful fall leaves cutfile by Paige Evans and also this fox cutfile and wanted to use them both on one layout. What better collection to use than the Auburn Lane collection?
It's #fall again and the perfect collection to document your #autumn pictures is the @pinkpaislee #auburn lane collection. See how @lisafonseca1985 used two cutfiles to create a bight and colorful fall layout.
The colors of the Auburn Lane collection are very "fallish" but I wanted to add some other, more bright colors, too.
As my background I used this woodgrain patterned paper and since I knew I wanted to use this bright pink paper from Oh my Heart for the flowers on the fox, I splattered some pink, peach and white paint on the paper.

I used the leaves cutfile and backed it with papers from the 6x6 paper pad and some 12x12 sheets from the Auburn Lane collection. For the fox, I used a patterned paper from Auburn Lane and one from Turn the Page. The pink color of that last paper was too bright, so I tuned it down by smooshing some white gesso in some places. I really love the ombre effect it gave. For the flowers, I used some Oh my Heart papers and I love how they stand out from the other, more muted, colors.
Don't mind the little sequin on the foxe's nose, I only noticed now that it must have fell on my layout before I took the pictures ;)

I placed both backed cutfiles on my page and started decorating.
I fussy cut a bunch of the gold flowers from the vellum specialty sheet and added them all around the leaves cutfile.

I used a picture from my last vacation in Italy and backed it with strips I created, using the Auburn Lane washi tape, that I adhered to a white sheet, then cut out.

For my title I used the mini foam thickers from the same collection. I love to mix gold and rose gold and I thought that this was the perfect layout to do so. Then I used some more embellishments like flowers and hearts to place in different spots on my layout.

I really love how this layout turned out, using two cutfiles! You should definitely try it too, it's really fun and your layout will come together really fast... well the idea at least... maybe not the making of it... ;)

Mini album for the Hip Kit Club

Tuesday, October 16, 2018

Hi scrappy friends,
it's Lisa back on the blog today sharing a mini album I made using theSeptember kits.

When I looked through my September stuff to chose the items I was going to use for the album and also to get an idea of how I was going to make it, I was really inspired by two things. That scalloped chipboard frame from Pinkfresh studio (Embellishment Kit) and the word 'September' on one of the exclusive project life cards (Project Life Kit). I immediately saw how my cover was going to look :)
That project life card gave me the idea to use all the best photos from September and make a September memories album. So  I printed all the photos on my phone that I took in September (okay... not ALL the photos, but those that reminded me of cool and fun moments).
To see how big my album was going to be, I took the chipboard frame, placed it on a patterned paper and measured it, leaving some space all around the frame. Then I cut the paper for the cover following that size and I also cut all the papers ( Main KitandPaper Kit) that I was going to use as pages.

For the cover I added 1cm of length because I wanted the album to have some thickness and I wanted to add eyelets.

So when everything was cut and the eyelets were on the cover, I took three elastics and I threaded them into the eyelets. Then I made piles of three pieces of patterned papers and I inserted them in the album using the elastics, like you would do with a TN insert.

Then I started decorating my pages using all the beautiful embellishments from theMain Kit,Embellishment Kitand Project Life Kit.
I especially loved using those mini alphas from Pinkfresh Studio. I used them to create my titles on every page, to make all the pages look coherent.

I matted very picture on some cardstock (Cardstock Kit) or on some patterned paper. I also used up all my enamel dots from the Pinkfresh Studio collection.

The Pinkfresh studio puffy stickers and die cuts were a great addition too.

One of my favorite items in the kits, were the Pinkfresh studio cardstock and chipboard frames. Those colors... :) I tried to use them on different pages in my album.

I'm very happy with how many embellishments I was able to use in this album. Mini albums a great to use use up your stash or kill a kit. :)

If you want to see some of the process and more of the pages, you should go watch the video on my YouTube channel.

Spooky cards for PINK PAISLEE

Friday, October 12, 2018

Hi scrappy people,
Halloween is right around the corner and I'm already really excited.
Last year, I bought the Spellcast collection but I didn't get around to using it that much. So I thought that it would be a great idea to use it again this year and make some spooky (but pretty chic) cards.Image 49
To start, I looked for cool spooky wreath cutfiles and I found some from Paige Evans in the silhouette store. Here are the links to the cutfiles: wreath 1wreath 2. I also found this beautiful butterfly cutfile and thought it would match really well together.
Image 44
I chose some patterned papers from the 6x6 paper pad, two for the backgrounds, two for cutting out the wreaths and another two for cutting out the butterflies. When I had everything cut out and my background papers adhered and stitched on a white square-ahaped card base, I backed the butterflies with some more patterned papers and then placed all the pieces on the cards.
Then I started choosing my embellishment pieces.
Image 47
I chose ephemera pieces, chipboard stickerscardstock stickers and I also used some sequins from the Auburn Lane collection.
Image 41
I placed all the embellishments on the cards in a way I liked and topped them off with the butterflies, that I decorated with a few sequins and adhered with foam squares to make them pop. I wanted them to look like they weren't really part of the cards, but more like real butterflies just resting there. :)
Image 43
To finish the cards, I splattered some paint/ink on them.
Those cards were really easy to make once I had my cutfiles chosen. They came together pretty fast and I really love how they turned out. I think that the wreaths cutfiles really match the style of this spooky, yet chic collection. :)

I really hope you like them too, thank you so much for stopping by :)
