Hi scrappy friends,
today I'm sharing this fun wintery layout.
Believe it or not, this layout wasn't inspired by the picture... :) Haha... in fact, I made this layout and waited for two weeks to finish it, because I didn't have the right picture to go with it. Then, one day, we had this presentation with our kids from kindergarten and it snowed right that day! YAY! So me and my colleagues saw this snowman and thought it would make the perfect picture. It was only when I got home that I realized that it matched so good with the layout. The snow disappeared the day after and it didn't snow since, so I'd say, heaven knew exactly what I knew to complete this layout! :)
To start, I chose a wintery color palette. I went through all of the Whimsical, Turn the page and Pick-me-up papers and chose the ones I thought would match perfectly for this cool winter layout.
I cut squares that had approximately the same size and started placing them on my white 12x12 sheet of cardstock. When I had all my papers adhered, I die-cut snowflakes, hand-cut some other snowflakes and some letters to write "FaLaLa" and punched out stars. I then placed one item in every square paying attention to place them on a color that would make them stand out. Then I stitched in between and around all the lines, using different threads and stitching styles. What I really like is, that it doesn't look perfect and tidy at all, it makes the whole thing really cute. Finally, I splattered some white paint all over it.
I then created this fun snowman by paper-piecing him together using different patterned papers. I hand-stitched around the snowman with matching threads and cut him out leaving a white border. I placed him on my fun background and started embellishing.
I used the Whimsical chipboard stickers, puffy stickers, cardstock stickers and ephemera to place on the snowman an on the squares, trying to color-match them.
Then I stopped and waited two weeks to finally have the perfect picture... :)
I matted the picture on two patterned papers, used some more ephemera flowers around it and on the snowman and I was done! :)

Hey lovely friends,
today I'm sharing two cards I made using mostly the Whimsical collection by Paige Evans.
When my assignment is to make cards, I always want to find special and fun ways to make them. I really like traditional cards too, but when I have to make them myself, I prefer making non-traditional ones.
So this time, I wanted to make something winter related. I love the frosty colors you can use in winter projects. So I chose some patterned papers from the Whimsical collection and one or two papers from the Summer Lights collection to create the perfect color palette for these cards.
For this first card, I punched a lot of stars and arranged them in a way to create a snowflake. I planned on using more colors but then decided to stick with blue, pink and yellow. I then adhered them to a white sheet of paper and hand-stitched through the middle of every branch. I cut the snowflake out leaving a white border, placed it on a bright blue patterned paper and cut it out again. I repeated this by placing the snowflake on a white piece of paper again, to create the back part of the card.
I created a cute face to place in the middle of the snowflake and embellished it with a little flower sticker. For the sentiment, I used the Whimsical mini foam thickers and wrote "For You" on one of the branches.
This card doesn't open traditionally, where you flip the front up. Here, you slide the front part to the side. I attached the two pieces with a glittery star brad (not from Pink Paislee) which lets you slide the front part to see what's written in the inside of the card. Here I used a "Thank you sticker and a star chipboard sticker.
For this next card I hand cut out letters, from the patterned papers I had chosen previously, to write "Winter", and a snowman out of white paper. I didn't want to paper-piece the snowman in this project, I wanted it to stay white and only get the colors from the thread I would be using. I adhered the letters to a white sheet of paper, stitched around the letters and also stitched the snowman, using colorful threads. The I placed the snowman behind the word, the little hands, on the word and the whole thing on a blue patterned paper. I then cut it out leaving a border and repeated the same process as on the first card.
I used the mini foam thickers to write "Greetings" on "Winter", to make it say "Winter Greetings" and embellished some more with flower stickers from the Whimsical sticker book. When you open the card, you can see the sentiment. Here I found a cute quote on Pinterest and I wrote it using the letter stickers from the sticker book. And oops... I just saw now that I missed a word in the quote... ;) Well, you get the point, right?

Hey lovelies,
I'm back with another cute fall layout using the Whimsical collection.
As you can probably tell, I haven't been able to not use the collection this month... :)
When Paige posted this free cutfile in the Facebook group a few weeks ago, I was totally in love and knew I wanted to use it. I wanted it to be on part of the page and then I wanted a cute critter in the other corner. So I chose this hedgehog cutfile and when I had all the pieces put together, I stitched around it. I also backed the flower cutfile with a lot of different patterned papers.
As a background, I chose this very light pink paper and I adhered the cutfiles using foam squares.
I used a picture I had taken a few days before, when I went to the woods with my kindergarten class. Never forget to also take pictures of yourself when you're in a pretty place... ;)
I matted the picture on some scraps of patterned paper and placed it on my layout.
For the title, I used thickers from the Pick-me-up collection.
Then I embellished, using some flower stickers and ephemera, as well as some paper strips from the sticker book.
To finish, I used some enamel dots and splattered some gold mist on the page.
This layout came together pretty fast, as soon as I had my cutfile backed and my hedgehog stitched. I REALLY love how it turned out, it makes me really happy! :)

Pumpkin cutfile mini album for PINK PAISLEE

Hey friends,
welcome back to the blog. I'm very excited to share my newest mini album with you. I think it turned out very cool and special :)
I had this idea that I wanted to use a cutfile as a base for my album. I didn't want to make rectangular pages as I often do, I wanted to have something more... whimsical and "fallish" :)
So to start, I chose a cutfile. It was a pretty long process, because I couldn't decide on a cutfile and if I wanted to use different ones or only one and the same for every page... but eventually I decided on this pumpkin cutfile that I really love and have already used in my previous layout.
I let my silhouette cut out 16 pumpkins without the stem and 2 whole pumpkins. I backed all the stemless pumpkins (except 2) with four different patterned papers from the Whimsical collection. I chose papers that were pretty plain, that had only one color and didn't have a complicated pattern. I figured that it would be better to have neutral bases to put the pictures and embellishments on. Then I stitched around the backed cutfiles with gold and pink metallic thread. It didn't turn out perfect, because I'm really not that good at machine-stitching, but that's part of the whole whimsical style, I think :) Then I adhered two pumpkins, back on back, not putting tape on one side, so that they would create a little pocket to put some more pictures in. I hope you understand what I mean... ;)
For the cover, I backed one of the cutfiles that had the stem, but I didn't only use one paper, I used several patterned papers, to make the cover really colorful. Then I adhered the last cutfile to the back. I hand-stitched a bit of every part of the pumpkin using matching colors.
To finish the cover, I used some fabric flowers and gold thickers from the Auburn Lane collection.
I put a rose gold eyelet on every pumpkin page and then used a ring to create the album.
After the whole thing was put together, it was time to embellish the pages.
I knew I wanted to use pictures from our day in Disneyland Paris, so I thought of taking a lot of fun pictures that day and I think they turned out really cool and happy.
I repeated the same process to decorate every page. Matting the pictures on a patterned paper, adhering them with foam tape, embellishing with a few stickers, puffy stickers, ephemera pieces and enamel dots, adding some punched-out stars and finally writing one or a few words with the mini tickers from the collection. I also splattered some gold mist on every page.
Like I said, every pumpkin is sort of a pocket, so I was able to put some photos in there that I didn't have the space to put on the pages.
I adhered them on these little frames that I cut out from one of the patterned papers or on some other piece of paper and attached them with a glittered brad. I also adhered a little flag to them, so it was easier to see where they were and to pull them out.
Here all all of the pages... enjoy! :)
This page, is a shaker pocket. I created it with a plastic sheet and my fuse tool, filling it with sequins from the Auburn Lane collection.
Here, I laminated a cutfile and stitched the word "Disneyland", using different threads and a chain-link-stitch.
To finish the album and give it one last cute touch, I created this little tassel with paper pearls and a paper tassel. I love making those, they are the cutest :)

I'm back on the blog to share a cute and summery layout with you.
I often find inspiration for my layouts on Pinterest. When I saw an artwork with a bunch of cute little crabs on it, I really wanted to make a page with paper-pieced crabs :)
So to start, I chose four patterned papers from Paige's Pick-me-up collection, I drew some wonky circles, claws and little feet on them, cut them out and created my crabs. I adhered them on white paper, stitched around the pieces with matching thread and cut them out again, leaving a white border.
As a background paper, I chose one from the Summer Lights collection. I placed my crabs on the paper in a kind of grid design and adhered them on the page, using sticky foam to make them pop out and create dimension.
Then I cut out a bunch of pink and gold flowers from a floral paper from Oh my Heart. I scattered them on my page, placing a lot of them around the crabs.
For every crab, I also used one or two little piece that I thought would really match and complete the design. I used chipboard, cardstock and ephemera pieces from Summer Lights and Pick-me-up.
I wanted to put some scalloped strips on the top and bottom of the page. At first I wanted to use my scallop punch but when I went through the patterned papers from Pick-me-up I saw that paper with the ombre hearts. I thought that if I'd cut the bottom off those hearts id would create a cool colorful scalloped strip. So I picked two rows of hearts where the colors really matched and I used them on the top and bottom of the layout. Then I stitched around the page with dark pink thread.
I used a picture from my last vacation in Italy. I matted it on some scraps of patterned paper and placed it on the page, in between all of the crabs.
As a title, I used thickers from Pick-me-up. To finish the page, I splattered some white and gold paint on the page.
